The ABC Bunny

Average review score:

A classic alphabet book.
A small book on the alphabet which tells a story in rhyme of a bunny going home. It was a 1934 Newbery Honor book (i.e., runner-up to the Medal winner) for best contribution to American children's literature. Wanda Gág (1893-1946) was a well-known illustrator and writer of children's books.

Accurate Perspective Simplified
Published in Hardcover by Abak Pr (June, 1974)
Author: Howard J. Ashley
Average review score:

This is the only book you need.
There is no other book on perspective like it. With it you will be able to draw in scale, without distortion, true circles in true squares, EASILY! That vexing problem of how do you draw a true square, how do you draw a true circle and not some other oval is solved. It teaches the easiest and most accurate method of plotting perspective. All you need are the measurements. I made the drawing boards described easily. Comic book perspective must be accurate and at that scale no board is even necessary. Put away your computer and learn to draw with this book. Be a real artist.

Act Natural: How to Speak to Any Audience
Published in Hardcover by Random House (27 May, 2003)
Authors: Ken Howard, Edward Tivnan, and Thomas H. Taylor
Average review score:

A Must Have Book if You Ever Talk to More than One Person
This book, written by Ken Howard, a star of stage, screen and television and an experienced teacher at presigious schools, breaks new ground for those of us who dread to face the frightening task of speaking in public.
Howard draws on his extensive background to give you effective methods to overcome stage fright (you really don't want to eliminate it.) His advice on developing your memory for any kind of speaking situation -- whether addressing a sales conference or handling a job interview, is outstanding.
Howard uses techniques advocated by famous actors' coaches to strengthen your performance and to do it naturally.
Readers of this book will be impressed with the improvement they will make.
In fact, as a long-time student of how to improve my public speaking, I believe you'll find some individual chapters worth the price of the entire book.
I know I did.

Advanced Accounting
This is a popular university textbook. I know this because I called several universities for recommendations before purchasing. I've used this book as a professional reference. It is very current on recent pronouncements. The book is well organized, has good examples and it includes many "real world" examples as well

Advanced Medical Life Support: A Practical Approach to Adult Medical Emergencies
Published in Paperback by Prentice Hall (06 August, 2002)
Authors: Alice Dalton, Daniel Limmer, Alice L. Dalton, Howard Werman, and Joseph J. Mistovich
Average review score:

Finally a top quality AMLS Text
This is a very good book for paramedic students, probably too advanced for people who haven't recieved paramedic training. AMLS is a very important topic that tends to be overshadowed by trauma and cardiac. If you want pictures, this isn't the book for you and this probably isn't the career for you. This is a textbook that is laid out well and easy to read is a very user friendly format.

This book provides additional information about advanced medical life support that you woulnd't really get in a "paramedic" textbook. There is a chapter on hypoperfusion (shock) that is the best that I've seen in a book targeted towards paramedics.

This is too advanced for non-paramedics. There are other medical books desgined for BLS providers that would be better suited to firefighters, first responders, & first aid folks. This book is really designed for paramedic level providers in either a paramedic curriculum or continuing education.

This review was written about the 1st Edition. The newer title has replaced it. This book went from 1999-2002, pretty standard for emergency medical texts.

The Adventures of Moccasin Joe: True Life Story of Sgt. George S. Howard
Published in Hardcover by Blue Mountain Publishing, Inc. (01 September, 1996)
Author: Susan C. Reneau
Average review score:

I love the historical photos
I read and re-read this book every chance I get. I bought it from Amazon.com a few months ago and love the historical photos from the 1870s. I also liked the chapter where the author took her young son and retraced Moccasin Joe's footsteps. That was very sweet.

Aesthetic Dentistry with Indirect Resins
Published in Hardcover by Quintessence Publishing Co (15 January, 1992)
Author: Howard Stean
Average review score:

Concise and beautifully illustrated
This book outlines all the possible applications of indirect resin restorations. Each is illustrated with photos from the author's own clinical work. The book is objective in discussing the pros and cons of the techniques and materials available at the time it was written. I have attended courses at Dr Stean's practice, in London, and this book shows his meticulous approach to aesthetic (esthetic) dentistry and teaching skills.
